What’s Invisalign?

Invisalign shifts your teeth gently into place with the help of custom plastic aligners. Your friends won’t be able to tell you’ve got them in, and you can take them out any time. Invisalign utilizes 3-D imaging to design your unique care plan for a straighter smile. Invisalign has straightened lots of smiles, and more than 70 percent of American and Canadian orthodontists are certified Invisalign providers.

What are the benefits of Invisalign?

The 3-D imaging technology lets you see the end result of Invisalign – a straight smile. The invisible aligners don’t call attention to your treatment, so you can keep smiling the whole time they’re working.

Since you can remove them, oral care is much simpler. Traditional braces make it difficult to floss and brush normally, but the aligners can be removed for hassle-free oral hygiene.

Your diet doesn’t have to change with Invisalign; just take them out to eat and drink. Did we mention that they’re comfortable?

There are no wires and brackets to irritate your mouth.

How does it work?

Invisalign treatment takes anywhere from 9 to 15 months to move your teeth to their desired position. Patients receive successive sets of aligners – most patients use between 18 and 30.

Obviously treatment time and aligners sets differ depending on the patient’s needs. Patients switch to a new aligner approximately every two weeks.

This frequency of adjustment allows your teeth to move gradually into place. Your dentist will evaluate your progress approximately every six weeks to make sure you’re on track.

For best results, aligners should only be taken out to eat and to complete your oral hygiene routine.
